Hello, I'm

Reece Wilkinson

I build  |

Software developer and additive manufacturing apprentice — building automation tools, .NET applications, and anything that scratches a hardware itch.

01. About Me

I'm a software developer and degree apprentice based in Lancashire, UK, working in the additive manufacturing industry while completing a BSc Computing at UCLan. My day-to-day spans both hands-on manufacturing and writing software — which means I'm equally comfortable talking layer thicknesses and database schemas.

Outside of work I tinker obsessively: building Wear OS apps, automating things that probably didn't need automating, and occasionally spending far too long on Archipelago multiworld randomisers. I like projects that sit at the intersection of hardware and software, and I'm always chasing the next interesting problem.

02. Projects

Wear OS Voice Notes App

A two-part application for Galaxy Watch 5 and Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra. Records voice notes on the watch, transfers audio over Bluetooth via the Wearable Data Layer API, transcribes speech on the phone using Android's SpeechRecognizer, and stores everything locally in SQLite — all built with raw .NET Android projects.

3D Printer Log Monitor

A lightweight Python HTTP server that tails and parses real-time log output from a 3D printer. Surfaces print status, errors, and progress through a simple web interface, giving visibility into long prints without needing to babysit the machine.

Macro Pad Automation GUI

A desktop GUI built with Python and tkinter for configuring and firing keyboard macros and automated mouse sequences. Drives AutoHotkey scripts under the hood, with a visual layout for binding actions to keys — built to speed up repetitive workflows.
